The problem with functioning labels isn‘t that levels of functioning don‘t exist and thus labels shouldn‘t be used. It‘s that functioning is individual varying and fluctuating so applying one static functioning label to a person is ALWAYS incorrect & harmful.
I'm thinking quite a lot of us may have experienced 'You're good at X, so you're just being bolshy etc if you don't do Y well' It's certainly been my experience.
