  • What kind of government benefits are you on?  SSI or something else?

I would speak with SS specialist lawyer or a welfare system specialist para legal. If your that concerned I wouldn't trust a laymans advice.

I'm on SSDI if your also on SSDI I could try to answer a question for you but it's not a substitute for professional legal advice
  • From watching Judge Judy on T.V. (I truly love her what can I do?) it seems that the U.S. welfare system is manipulated and abused by many people who are able to work and choose not to. That must make it much more difficult for truly deserving people with real disabilities to receive suitable assistance. It might be worth mentioning that in my own country welfare is lean in comparison and extremely difficult to receive even when desperately needed.
@slyFox I agree with Statest that you should consult an impartial expert, maybe it is not necessary to report the changes and start an avalanche for nothing. (metaphor)

SSI,SSDI, SNAPS, medicare and medicaid. Mom gets housing which my income also has to be reported to.

for snap it seems I only report if my monthly income goes up over $100. It's going up $98.88. but due to clocking out few mins late each day might go up over $100 some months or less others. I dont know if they care about that. I'd hate to lose snap cause its $238 a month right now and the extra $98.88 will be mostly taken by housing.

that's really expensive for what is simple reporting policies compared to what lawers do.

There are para legals that do welfare stuff you could try sending them a message. It sounds like most of the stuff you talk about is mandatory reporting,so you have to be honest or they'll find out and you'll be in trouble. So it looks like you have to report in those situations. If you have already crossed a line then you already qualify for a welfare paralegal, you may want to contact them if you have already screwed up.

It’s required but only if it meets the requirements like food snap only required if your monthly wages go up over $100 hey don’t care if it goes up less.
I haven’t crossed. Any line. My wage went up $2 an hour but I was off work for 3 weeks so I made less this month then I normally do and this don’t need to report to anyone. Next month will be first month it gone above what I normally make.

It's sound you know more about your situation then we do,so I'm not sure how we can help. You know your state laws we don't,you know SSI I only know SSDI.I don't how we can help.Other than report all changes honestly and on time to save your ass just in case.

I just sent back my SNAP renewal myself, there were no changes to report other than SSDI COLA but that is auto-reported to SNAP by SSA at least in MA or VT the only states I know.I usually go to the North Berkshire welfare office to turn in my SNAP renewal but it's covid so I overnighted the apllication back to Taunton,MA just in case there is a problem it wil give me extra time before the 3-14 deadline for renewal.

I would contact legal aid in your area if you have further questions.
