My friend's husband has come through a risky operation very well so far. The surgical team were humble enough to do their due diligence and consult with experts worldwide before the op. They managed to save his kidney and return function to his Aorta, so far so good. Phew !!

I'm glad to see that operation went so well! Issues with someone's aorta can be very scary and it's great the team took it so seriously.
My eye isn't swollen and as red anymore after getting scratched by my rabbit. I'm very grateful for the eye specialist who took his time looking at it, and even helped me put a contact in so the abrasion doesn't heal wrong and mess with my vision.

I wish you a speedy recovery. Does it bother you much?

Thank you, Teach. It hurt a lot the first couple of days, but after he put the contact on and gave me stronger antibiotic eye drops its felt a lot better. My eyelid was running across it and constantly irritating it, which was no fun. lol

What happened, was it an accident, or was it on purpose?

I hope it heals well and fast :)
Thank you, Bender! It seems to be healing up nicely after I got the contact on. I'm going back tomorrow to get that taken out and to check if my eye is healed.
Also, I'm gonna be blunt here because it's funny (in my opinion lol). Our rabbit isn't fixed yet, so sometimes he attempts to mount my arms (I dunno why he has a human arm fetish...), and while I was laying down he jumped onto my bed, tried to mount my shoulder, and when he held onto me he shoved his paw into my left eye, claws and all. It wasn't funny when it happened, but now it makes my family laugh.

Made me laugh too but the eye injury is no joke. he's just doing what rabbits do. I had a little toy poodle once who masturbated on anyone who came to visit, embarassing. He was such a fluffy cute little thing it was difficult to believe that he was so horny. When we brought him a lady friend to mate with he turned up his nose and walked away. He preferred human legs to poodlettes. Go figure.

I hope your eye fully recovers and that the pain continues to ease.
As stories about injuries go, that is a good one, it made me giggle.

I hear you, I just neutered my cat yesterday for similar reasons

Oh Lord. Your poodle was so picky! Only human legs for him, I guess.
Malo only does the arm humping thing to me, for some reason. At least I know he likes me...? lol
He's been incessant about it lately though, so whenever he does it I pick him up and hold him, because he hates that. So far he's been doing it a bit less.
Be a bit careful Hylian, males can get pretty vicious. Is he also getting territorial?
Teach51, maybe there's something about tiny poodles, as I met one who was behaving in a very similar way But they are incredible runners: I've seen him passing a Doberman while they were both chasing a ball as if he was a tiny fluffy rocket. Remarkable.

He's actually not very territorial towards me or my dad, which is odd, but he is territorial towards my mother.
Also, whenever I hear about some dog with a humping problem it seems to always be a small dog... I wonder what's up with that. lol

Small dogs usually get less or no training at all which makes them more prone to misbehaving.
I also knew a Doberman who was humping people and it was not a pretty sight. Unfortunately, the owner was an idiot so the dog was untrained, spoiled, and never listened to him. I can handle myself around such dogs, but some people were scared senseless.
Aye she has that squished nose look and its making breathing harder as she ages.
Added to that she has sniffed up a small obstruction again... a miniscule piece of grass most likely from the freshly cut lawn despite adding a collection bag, there are always small pieces left behind.
Its still stuck somewhere in her nasal passages but has moved enough for her to be in less distress breathing.
I think shihtzus are so cute! I never thought about the squished nose making it difficult to breathe. I am glad she is feeling better.
I am happy today because I discovered there is one more day in April!!!!!!
All week long, I thought April ended today. I have regular monthly deadlines and despaired of getting everything completed today which I knew was April 30. When I started work around 7 am, I saw my computer display as 4/29/21. I didn't believe it. I thought there was something wrong with my computer. I had to call my husband to see what he thought the date was. The computer (and my husband! ) were right! Duh!
I'm grateful to blazingstar for starting this thread because not forgetting the good things in our lives is very important and a crucial aspect for people recovering from trauma.
I'm good enough at remembering such things, but I'm not always good at expressing my gratitude - I don't post here often, but since this thread started, it functioned as a great reminder to do this regularly IRL and people noticed
I have enormous gratitude for the good people in my life, they more than compensate for the negative experiences of the past. I am grateful for being able today to focus on the good of the here and now and not dwell in the quagmire of the past. Many people have gone out of their way to show their concern and offer help since learning about my recent health challenges, it is difficult for me to accept help but.......I am learning! May I always be able to focus on what is positive and not be blinded by negativity.

Celebrations blaze! It is May 1st here, but I sense your joy!
Im grateful for doggie steroids, my wee lady has resumed her daily pattern of 'kill the squeaky ball' for hours, we wont be going on any walks for a while, but I dont care, its great to see her bright eyed and full of pluck... even if she is already showing signs of roid-rage...
